Hep C HOPE Team
Hep C Outreach, Prevention and Education
The Hepatitis C Outreach, Prevention and Education (HOPE) team is a coalition of youth in NYC dedicated to alleviating the burden of hepatitis C in youth by engaging in outreach and education to prevent the spread of hepatitis C among their peers. HOPE interns listen, educate, and help people get the information and care needed to prevent hepatitis C.
Achievements (2016-2017):
- Established outreach curriculum customized for
- High schools
- Community organization serving chef training program students
- Engaged peers through multiple prevention presentations at a community organization
- Launched a social media campaign “Have Hope to End Hep C”
- Tabled at college campuses
- Presented on Hep C in college classes
- Created a HOPE pocket card
- Screened the Hep C Prevention in Youth Video at CUNY Hunter College
- Engaged in the “Show Your Face Social Media Campaign” for World Hepatitis Day
