Director of Research & Evaluation
This position will
- Oversee the research and evaluation functions of the Health Center, including the development
of research protocols and monitoring of research compliance with regard to IRB regulations and protocols - Conduct analyses of demographic and health-related data within Asian-Americans at the zip-code, borough, and city levels to support strategic planning and needs assessment activities
- Act as one of the site investigators for the Community Health Applied Research Network (CHARN), a multi-year, multi-nodal research collaborative that seeks to build capacity of community health centers to conduct patient-centered outcome research
- Participate in CHARN steering committee meetings, research planning workgroup, and Hepatitis B data analysis project
- Serve as project evaluator for government and foundation funded projects, such as Title IX, adolescent pregnancy prevention grant, breastfeeding initiative, cancer support group, smoking cessation project
- Provide research design and data analysis support to the clinical team in conducting Health Center’s patient experience survey and patient focus groups
- Provide consultation and technical support for clinical teams to complete research and evaluation related activities
- Contribute to the development and writing of research proposals for submission to federal, state and city agencies, foundations and other funding sources
- Develop conference presentations and peer-reviewed journal manuscripts of research and data findings
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to research & evaluation manager and research & evaluation associate
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold a doctoral degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Psychology, Social Work, or other health related fields, or, hold a master degree in Public Health and with have 5 years of substantive
research and evaluation experience - Experience in developing and implementing a public health research agenda at a nonprofit organization
- Possess qualitative/quantitative research skills, including conceptualization, planning, implementation and data analysis tasks
- Demonstrate skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and staff training; demonstrated ability to
coordinate several simultaneous projects to meet the Health Center’s goals and objectives - Knowledge and skills of Asian American communities and of health service research
- Excellent writing and communication skills required
- Bilingual in Chinese preferred
