Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual in English and Korean
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (This position entails extensive oral and email communication with grantors and the program managers of grantor organization who oversee the program activities)
  • Undergraduate  degree in public health or related field, Masters preferred
  • Fast learner and passionate about public health issues and helping the underserved and immigrant community
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in statistical programs (SPSS, etc) preferred
  • Prior experience/knowledge in public (Medicaid/Medicare) and private health insurance programs preferred

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Project Management (60%)

    • Performs a variety of functions in health services program coordination- data collection, research, documentation and project management
    • Interacts with various groups of people- target population, public/government officials, grantors and other stakeholders
    • Conduct policy advocacy by analyzing policy/regulation changes and attend external policy advocacy events
    • Engage in outreach activities to promote the services and programs offered by the organization
    • Understand the complex health care system and provide navigational assistance to the uninsured/underinsured

Administration (30%)

    • Develops various in-house educational materials and translates externally developed materials between Korean and English
    • Engage in grant development process through research, proposal writing and contract management

Other (10%)

    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the director
    • Supervise interns and volunteers
