Program Manager: Tackling Youth Substance Abuse (TYSA) Initiative

The Staten Island Partnership for Community Wellness (SIPCW) seeks to hire a Program Manager for the Tackling Youth Substance Abuse (TYSA) Initiative.

TYSA is a collective impact initiative that was formed in 2011 to address Staten Island’s alarming rates of youth substance abuse. TYSA is a project of SIPCW, a nonprofit established to promote wellness and improve the health of the Staten Island community through collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach.

TYSA is currently funded by the Staten Island Foundation and a federal Drug Free Community (DFC) Support grant. The initiative requires a highly skilled manager to support the work of TYSA and its day to day operations. The Program Manager will ensure that TYSA’s internal and external functions, including strategy, communications, community engagement, and data functions work smoothly. The Program Manager will assist in identifying and securing additional funding opportunities. The Project Manager will report to the SIPCW Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Manager manages systems and is accountable for providing high-level strategic thinking and facilitation of the TYSA effort. Key responsibilities include: Grants oversight and reporting; Recruiting and engaging community partners; Supporting Steering Committee and Workgroup members; Communications (internal/external); Data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Public Policy, Community Health or Social Work or Relevant experience
  • 5 plus years of experience in Public Health or Non-Profit
  • Evaluation experience and comfort level collecting and analyzing data
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in full MS Office package – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Familiarity with the Staten Island Community
