Hep C Project Manager

Project Description:

Project INSPIRE and FOCUS at Mount Sinai aims to improve the treatment of hepatitis C (HCV) infection in NYC. It is estimated that 146,500 NYC adults (2.4% of the NYC population) have chronic HCV infection, which causes cirrhosis, end-stage liver disease, liver cancer, and death in 20% of infected persons. The project will utilize patient navigation and care coordination to assist medical providers in improving overall outcomes related to treatment while reducing psychosocial and behavioral barriers to care.
The Project Manager will manage activities associated with research and service projects of the Hepatitis C Linkage to Care and Care Coordination programs, including supervision of staff, grant and budget preparation, as well as administrative responsibilities in implementing the program structure.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the program staff to achieve all Program objectives and deliverables
  • Administrative Management of approximately 8 staff members
  • Prepare progress reports and resubmissions as required internally and externally
  • Manage budget and reporting back to the Division
  • Manage Grants Office and IRB submissions
  • Serve as the point person for building community partnerships and opportunities for collaboration
  • Step in when needed to fulfil the role of the care coordinator,
  • Provide weekly updates to HCV team meeting for problem solving, inform quality improvement
  • Attend on-site and off-site trainings as needed.
  • Attend New York City Department of Health HCV Task Force, when possible
  • Report to Medical and Behavioral program Directors
  • Attend HCV Research Meetings when needed
  • Work at multiple clinics in various locations in NYC throughout the week
  • Must possess knowledge of community resources and health care processes, structure, and function
  • Work closely with community to develop and maintain HCV-related networks (e.g. syringe exchange program and CBOs)
  • Other administrative duties as needed

Desired Skills

  • Experience in grant management including budgets, Grants Office, and IRB submissions
  • Experience managing staff and communicating across several departments and disciplines
  • Strong communication, writing and problem solving skills
  • Experience with data management and report writing
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with patients with chronic hepatitis C and/or other underserved and marginalized patient populations
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

Minimal Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in public health, clinical epidemiology, or related field and at least 3 years of experience managing healthcare projects
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrate Independent Judgment

Two-year commitment expected. Salary commensurate with experience.
