THE FIX – THE HEALING IS MUTUAL
By Laura Naylor
Winner of the Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the 2014 SOHO International Film Festival, The FIX follows the story of a group of recovering injection drug users in the Bronx who join forces to fight the Hepatitis C epidemic in their community. Knitting together personal narratives with a profile of innovative programs at a methadone clinic, the film explores the concept of storytelling as an instrument of change and gives a powerful voice to a marginalized population. The FIX is ultimately a personal story of redemption and hope, putting a human face on addiction and disease with sensitivity and grace.
Event is free and open to the public.
Panel discussion and appetizer buffet will follow film.
