Upcoming Conference Call with NYS Medicaid Managed Care: To discuss hepatitis C Medicaid coverage & medication issues

Purpose of Call: NYS DOH will provide an overview of the Medicaid Managed Care Carve-in, background on Medicaid Fee-for Service Program as it pertains to the Drug Utilization Review Board and Hepatitis C drugs, and issues of concern raised by HCV providers. This is an opportunity for HCV providers or members of the HCV community to raise concerns regarding access to the new Hep C drugs, and any challenges experienced now that coverage for these drugs is provided through Medicaid Managed Care. Medicaid Redesign – HCV Stakeholders Meeting – This meeting took place on July 10th. To be informed in advance of future meetings, contact: Colleen Flanigan at firstname.lastname@example.org. The New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute will hold a meeting with HCV stakeholders from across the New York State to discuss the HCV Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT #5311) proposal, “Promote Hepatitis C Care and Treatment through Service Integration,” developed by the MRT’s Health Disparities Workgroup. The purposes of this meeting are to provide background information, to obtain input, and to answer any questions related to the proposal. Discussion of Staten Island Hep C Task Force Meeting and access problems in Staten Island – there are limited HBV & HCV mono-infection treatment options for Medicaid patient on Staten Island – this topic when tabled to next meeting when representation from SI is present.
