Internship and Volunteer Opportunity in the Asian American Community in New York City
The mission of the New York University Center for the Study of Asian American Health (NYU CSAAH) is to reduce health disparities in the Asian American community through research, training and partnership. We are looking for bright, motivated individuals to help us conduct community health assessments to better understand the health needs of and resources available to diverse Asian American communities in New York City. We are looking for both Interns interested in committing to a 180-hour internship with NYU CSAAH, as well as volunteers who are interested in helping out on an occasional basis.
Intern and Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Participate in a training
- Attend outreach events (may include some weekends and evening hours)
- Build and maintain partnerships with community groups serving the Asian American community
- Recruit participants
- Administer surveys
- Perform data collection, entry, and analysis
Intern and Volunteer Qualifications:
- Availability on weekends and evenings
- Familiarity with minority and immigrant communities in NYC
- A background in public health or community-based participatory research
- Commitment to working in underserved communities
Bilingual in at least one of the following languages: Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Urdu, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Khmer, Nepali, Tagalog
