In 2011, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published the “Action Plan for the Prevention, Care, and Treatment of Viral Hepatitis.”

This Action Plan recommends robust and dynamic steps for improving viral hepatitis prevention and the care and treatment available to infected individuals.
Recently, HHS released a Request for Information, asking organizations to detail viral hepatitis initiatives they implemented in 2014 and 2015.
