Mount Sinai Hospital

Overview

Mount Sinai HospitalThe Division of General Internal Medicine Hepatitis C Clinical and Research Program is an innovative program based within the primary care clinic services. Our comprehensive team management model ensures that patients receive supportive services from diagnosis through care and treatment for their hepatitis C.

Our Services

The Hepatitis C Clinical and Research Program provides community education and conducts rapid hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibody testing and confirmatory HCV RNA testing in the community to identify individuals with chronic hepatitis C infection and link them to health care. This is also known as our Hepatitis C Education and Liver Screening (HEALS) program. We also provide evaluation and treatment of chronic hepatitis C infection in the primary care setting using a multidisciplinary team model – mental health, social work, and nutrition services are available to all patients. In addition, we, hold a monthly patient support group on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6:00p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Through the New York State Department of Health HepCAP program, we are able to provide medical care for patients who do not qualify for health insurance, including undocumented persons.
