Description:
This two-part, 3-hour training (2 sessions of 1.5 hours each) is designed for health and human service providers working with people living with HIV who need updated information on HIV/Hep C co-infection to improve client care.
This training is approved by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) for 3 clock hours toward CASAC/CPP/CPS certification renewal.
Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand key information about liver health and Hep C, including transmission, prevention, screening, and treatment.
- Advise HIV-positive clients on the importance of knowing their Hep C status.
- Explain how HIV/Hep C co-infection impacts disease progression.
- Recognize recent advancements in treatment for co-infected individuals.
- Identify three additional service needs for people with both HIV and Hep C.
