Navigating Hep C Treatment for Women Who Inject Drugs: A multidisciplinary perspective
Thursday, February 27 | 12 – 1 PM
RSVP
Description:
Injection drug use is the most commonly reported risk factor among new Hep C infections, however, people who inject drugs are less likely to be treated for this curable disease, especially women. Several studies show women, including those who inject drugs, are less likely to initiate treatment than men. Women who inject drugs may experience compounding challenges when accessing Hep C services, including but not limited to stigma, child caring responsibilities, and lack of research dedicated to the experiences of women with Hep C (including pregnant people). Join this panel discussion on the benefits of, barriers to, and best practices for engaging women in Hep C services.
