Description:
Join the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU) for this symposium focusing on the practical implementation of evidence-based interventions for Hep C and harm reduction such as point-of-care testing, peer support, care navigation, outreach and case finding. This Symposium will be held adjacent to the ‘Doing it in the Dessert: Viral Hepatitis and STI Elimination Summit, organized by Ven Centres and Arizona Liver Health.
This symposium is intended for anyone interested in implementing or scaling up interventions for Hep C in their service setting, including healthcare providers, community members and policymakers from a variety of settings, e.g. primary care, drug and alcohol services, corrections, outreach, homelessness, mental health, needle and syringe services & health departments.
The symposium will showcase good practice interventions and models of care, highlighting key research, challenges and learnings in a collaborative coaching environment, with the aim of supporting participants to develop or enhance their own models of care.
Objectives:
- Understand evidence-based interventions demonstrated to enhance the Hep C care cascade
- Understand the Hep C care cascade and be able to identify areas for enhancement in service delivery (including case finding and linkage to care)
- Describe how a range of interventions work and how they can be implemented to enhance models of Hep C and
integrated HIV care and overcome barriers to case finding, testing, diagnosis and linkage to care - Identify suitable interventions to enhance service delivery
- Analyze barriers of implementing successful interventions and how to overcome them
