Description:
The NaLa Conference aims to create opportunities to share information and efforts around health disparities that negatively impact the Latinx population such as Human immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hep C and Substance Use Disorder (SUD), by bridging the varied disciplines of education, advocacy, and clinical care. Thus, creating better health outcomes for the Latinx population.
Learning Objectives:
- Increase knowledge, communication and respectful attitudes regarding HIV, Hep C, and SUD among Latino communities.
- Discuss the cultural and social barriers faced by Latino individuals in seeking/receiving treatment, care, and prevention for HIV, Hep C and SUD.
- Recognize the impact of HIV, Hep C and SUD among Latino communities when compared to other national populations.
- Identify culturally tailored medical practices and interventions to Latino patients and populations in order to provide better health.
