New York Organ Donor Network
Continues effort to build best-in-class volunteer program with the primary goal of driving enrollment on the NYS organ donor registry. Creates and implements innovative strategies to recruit new sources of volunteers. Executes unique and creative approaches to motivate, train, effectively deploy, recognize, reward, and retain volunteers. Develops and evaluates community program strategies and tactics that build strong relationships with donation community groups. Implements collaborative efforts to promote donation. Strengthens relationships with key volunteers and community groups. Develops a strategic workplace partnerships program that taps into the great potential that New York based companies offer to the organ donation cause. Systematically identifies and prioritizes high-potential prospective workplace partners. Builds and equips workplace partners with turnkey initiatives to drive enrollment on the registry. Works closely with Donor Family Services department to appropriately, and sensitively transition donor families to volunteers/advocates. Leverages technology, and social media for on-going communication with volunteers. Supports public relations activities, including creation of an active speaker’s bureau of volunteers who can effectively communicate the organization’s mission. This position reports to the Director of Communications.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in public administration, personnel administration, or marketing. Minimum five years related progressive experience in volunteer services and community relations. Grassroots marketing experience is preferred. Must be a people person with excellent communication skills. Should have proven ability to work with a diverse, passionate, and sometimes emotional constituency. Presentation, training, and conflict resolution skills preferred. Experience managing and developing direct reports preferred.
