This year\, they are honored to host Fabien Zoulim\, MD\, PhD\, Professor of Medicine at Lyon I University. \nFabien Zoulim is Head of the Hepatology Department at the Hospices Civils de Lyon\, and Head of the INSERM laboratory on Pathobiology and Therapy of Liver Diseases. He founded the Lyon Hepatology Institute in 2023. Dr. Zoulim is Associate Editor for GUT\, and also served as a Governing Board member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL). His research is focusing on the mechanisms of Hep B persistence to find a cure for Hep B. He is also coordinating the ANRS “Hep B cure” Task Force in France since 2014\, and co-founded the International Coalition to Eliminate Hep B in 2016. For his research on “Hep B cure”\, Dr. Zoulim received the 2004 William Prusoff and the 2023 Gertrude Elion awards of the International Society for Antiviral Research\, and the 2022 Distinguished Award in Hep B Research from the International Hep B meeting. \nDr. Zoulim will deliver a lecture on “Understanding Viral Persistence to Cure Hep B.” This promises to be a thought-provoking presentation for scientists\, clinicians\, public health professionals\, community advocates and people living with Hep B. \nRSVP

DESCRIPTION:Overdose Prevention & Response with Naloxone\nThursday\, December 5 | 6 – 7 PM\nRegister\nDescription:\nThis virtual training will teach you how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose using naloxone and provide information on how to access free naloxone. \nThe training runs for approximately one hour and kits can be mailed to attendees upon request following the training. \nPlease note: Kits can only be mailed to addresses within the five boroughs of New York City. \nTo access kits outside of NYC\, please visit here. \nOnce you have registered for the training\, you will receive a few follow-up emails from NYC Health Department via Zoom: \n\nImmediately after you register: Registration confirmation email with log-in information\nOne (1) day and one (1) hour before the training: Training reminder emails\n\nIf it is the day before the training and you did not receive an email with the Zoom log-in information\, you should reach out to us at naloxone@health.nyc.gov.
