SUMMARY:Protecting Future Children from Hep B: The Importance of Hep B Vaccination at Birth - Part 2 (Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination)
DESCRIPTION:Protecting Future Children from Hep B: The Importance of Hep B Vaccination at Birth – Part 2\nTuesday\, April 8 | 11 AM – 12 PM\nRSVP\nDescription:\nHep B vaccination at birth is critical to protecting all babies from Hep B and liver disease. In the United States\, Hep B vaccination at birth has been recommended since 1991. \nJoin the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination for this webinar highlighting how state and city immunization programs and local clinicians work with families to assure timely Hep B birth dose vaccination of all newborns in the United States. \nKey Topics:\n\nThe role of health departments in providing case management to ensuring routine hepatitis B birth dose\nCase studies demonstrating the need for universal Hep B birth dose vaccination for all newborns\, such as when the maternal serologic status was not available at birth\nThe receptivity of mothers to vaccination of newborns\, including questions raised and answered\nHow Hep B birth dose is implemented with other services delivered post-partum (such as Vitamin K\, testing for genetic disorders)\n\nRSVP
