DESCRIPTION:Hep C Basics for Peer Workers \nDecember 4 | 10 AM – 12 PM\nRSVP\nThis 2-hour training at the Regional Training Center will provide peer workers with information on Hep C\, along with essential details about Hep A and B. \nBy the end of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\n\n\n\n\nRecall key information about who is affected by Hep C in NYS.\nUnderstand the basic functions of the liver.\nExplain how Hep C is and is not transmitted.\nShare information about viral hepatitis prevention and harm reduction strategies.\nRecall who should be screened for Hep B and C.\nDescribe the two-step testing process for Hep C.\nIdentify resources for Hep C testing in NYS.\nExplain the spectrum of illness associated with Hep C to clients.\nRecall important facts about new treatments for Hep C and available treatment resources in New York State.\nAdvise clients with Hep C on the importance of Hep A and B vaccination\, avoiding alcohol\, maintaining good liver health\, and preventing re-infection.\nRecall the NYS AIDS Institute Hep C Peer Worker competencies.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP \n\nQuestions?
