Training | Overdose Prevention & Response (NYC Health Dept)
January 21 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EST
This virtual training hosted by the Bureau Of Alcohol And Drug Use Prevention, Care And Treatment (BADUPCT) will teach you how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose during the COVID-19 pandemic. You will become a Certified Opioid Overdose Responder and can receive an Overdose Rescue Kit with naloxone–a medication that can save someone’s life by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose.
The training runs for approximately one hour and kits can be mailed to attendees upon request following the training.
Please note: Kits can only be mailed to addresses within New York City. To access kits outside of NYC, please visit https://www.naloxoneforall.org.
If it is the day before the training and you did not receive an Eventbrite email with the Zoom log-in information, you should reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: Organizations may register key staff members to be trained, but no more than two naloxone kits will be issued per organization (individuals may still get their own kit for personal use if they would like).
Opioid Overdose Prevention Program (OOPP) Staff: If your organization is a registered OOPP and you would like to be trained in DISPENSING naloxone, this is not the right training to take. Please contact us by emailing email@example.com to receive the Training of Dispensers (TOD) calendar.
