National Donor Day

February 14

Awareness Event

Let’s recognize our loved ones who have given the gift of donation, have received a donation, are currently waiting, or did not receive an organ in time. 120,000 Americans currently waiting for precious organ transplants depend on the public to sign up with their state’s organ donor registries on National Donor Day.

A liver transplant may be recommended if diagnosed with end-stage liver disease (chronic liver failure).
Hep B, Hep C, and liver cancers are common causes that may lead to chronic liver failure.

  • A whole liver may be transplanted, or just part of one. A healthy person can donate part of their liver and have live healthy because the liver is the only organ that can regenerate.
