National Alcohol Screening Day
April 8

Alcohol increases the risk of developing fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer, but many patients are not screened or effectively counseled on the risks of alcohol or how to reduce drinking. Screening and counseling can be quick and effective!
For patients living with hepatitis, any amount of alcohol consumption can have adverse health consequences. Speak with your health care provider about how to reduce drinking. Alcohol screenings are also available online for free.
Materials about Alcohol and Hepatitis:
- Alcohol Screening and Counseling for Patients with Hepatitis Brochure in English
- Alcohol and Hepatitis Palm Card in English and Spanish
Reducing alcohol drinking is key, however, in the early stages of the disease.
