#HarmReductionNow Twitter Chat with @DrugPolicyOrg

September 10 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Save the Date! September 10th @ 1:00 PM EDT for a Twitter Chat!

When: Thursday, September 10th from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT

Hosts: Drug Policy Alliance

Featured Partners: We’re expecting an array of organizations and thought leaders in the harm reduction, public health, HIV/hep C, and other stakeholder communities to join this Twitter chat including frontline providers and activists who use drugs. Please consider joining in!

The Drug Policy Alliance is hoping to raise more awareness about this funding need by hosting a Twitter chat and if you have a Twitter account we’d love for you to join us.

As the pandemic and economic downturn enters its eighth month, harm reduction providers have been hit hard by lost revenue, staffing shortages, and other challenges even as evidence mounted that drug overdoses are rising during this same period. The Drug Policy Alliance has been working along with other stakeholders to urge Congress to include funding for harm reduction providers in coronavirus relief efforts. Federal funding is critical to help sustain harm reduction providers in the coming months.

If you’re not familiar with a Twitter chat, it will work like this: Anyone with a Twitter account navigates to Drug Policy Alliance’s twitter account (@DrugPolicyOrg) at the appointed time. Tweets in the form of a question will be tweeted out from this account over the hour. Anyone with a Twitter account can then respond to or “answer” each question by replying to each of the questions tweeted out. Participants are also encouraged to like and retweet responses posted by others. We are planning approximately six questions to respond to or “answer” during the hour.

Email gsmith@drugpolicy.org directly to confirm your participation and to be added to the participant list.
