About CEI: 

The Clinical Education Initiative (CEI), a New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute program, offers free continuing medical education to enhance the capacity of New York State’s diverse healthcare workforce to deliver high-quality healthcare services and improve patient health outcomes. CEI’s Hep C and Drug User Health Center of Excellence enhances provider capacity through webinars, trainings, intensive preceptorship program, technical assistance and more!

Learning objectives: 

  1. Define harm reduction principles.
  2. Describe recent epidemiologic trends linking substance use disorder with infectious diseases such as HIV, viral hepatitis and Syphilis.
  3. Describe harm reduction techniques and skills that a practitioner can employ in their practice.
