About CEI
The Clinical Education Initiative (CEI), a New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute program, offers free continuing medical education to enhance the capacity of New York State’s diverse healthcare workforce to deliver high-quality healthcare services and improve patient health outcomes. CEI’s Hepatitis C and Drug User Health Center of Excellence enhances provider capacity through webinars, trainings, intensive preceptorship program, technical assistance and more!
Introducing the Drug User Health ECHO
The Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) Project is a learning framework wherein participants engage in a virtual community with their peers to share support, guidance and feedback. During each ECHO session, technical experts present short didactic trainings and participants present real (anonymized) cases to specialists and each other for discussion and recommendations. This knowledge-sharing model brings together specialists from multiple focus areas for a robust, holistic approach. The Hep C and Drug User Health Center of Excellence is pleased to provide the Drug User Health ECHO to New York State-based clinicians. This platform provides an opportunity to share and discuss cases related to healthcare for people who use drugs via monthly teleconferencing. Our Drug User Health ECHO supports participants in increasing skills and knowledge to engage, assess and treat people who use drugs. Monthly teleconferencing sessions will occur every fourth Wednesday of each month from 12 to 1 pm EST.
Expectations
Participants are expected to attend 12 one-hour monthly sessions and present at least one clinical case to the ECHO learning community. Participants will be accepted on a rolling basis and space is limited, so reserve your spot today!
