About CEI: 

The Clinical Education Initiative (CEI), a New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute program, offers free continuing medical education to enhance the capacity of New York State’s diverse healthcare workforce to deliver high-quality healthcare services and improve patient health outcomes. CEI’s Hep C and Drug User Health Center of Excellence enhances provider capacity through webinars, trainings, intensive preceptorship program, technical assistance and more!

Learning objectives: 

  1. Discuss evidence-based approaches to buprenorphine treatment
  2. Recognize the importance of appropriate language to decrease stigmatization, and the practical application of harm reduction and patient-centered care when providing buprenorphine treatment
  3. Identify barriers commonly encountered over the course of buprenorphine treatment as well as strategies to overcome them
  4. Discuss clinical cases that demonstrate appropriate use of buprenorphine treatment in a variety of clinical practice settings
