About CEI:
The Clinical Education Initiative (CEI), a New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute program, offers free continuing medical education to enhance the capacity of New York State’s diverse healthcare workforce to deliver high-quality healthcare services and improve patient health outcomes. CEI’s Hep C and Drug User Health Center of Excellence enhances provider capacity through webinars, trainings, intensive preceptorship program, technical assistance and more!
Learning objectives:
- Discuss evidence-based approaches to buprenorphine treatment
- Recognize the importance of appropriate language to decrease stigmatization, and the practical application of harm reduction and patient-centered care when providing buprenorphine treatment
- Identify barriers commonly encountered over the course of buprenorphine treatment as well as strategies to overcome them
- Discuss clinical cases that demonstrate appropriate use of buprenorphine treatment in a variety of clinical practice settings
