The Brooklyn Hep C Task Force Meeting featured a presentation on Hep C treatment and harm reduction on medical mobile units in Brooklyn, and Hep C policy updates.
At the meeting, Hep C Task Force Ad Board members developed Hep Free NYC goals for 2017.
At the meeting, Korean Community Services presented their Hep B Awareness materials and gave an update on Team HBV NYC.
At the meeting, Hep B Coalition Ad Board members developed 2017 goals.
At the first Public Education Committee meeting, members created a strategic plan to increase Hepatitis education, awareness and outreach activities throughout NYC.
At the Bronx Hep C Task Force meeting, we provided updates on Project INSPIRE, the NYS Hep C Elimination Summit, and the Hep C Peer Navigation and Check Hep C Patient Navigation Programs.
Committee members designed a second version of the LGBTQ Hepatitis Resource Card and planned a Hep A and B vaccination campaign targeting the LGBTQ community.
The meeting included an update on the NYC Health Dept Hepatitis Surveillance report, and allowed for planning of committee activities in 2017.
The meeting officially launched the Hep C Prevention in Youth Internship Program. Interns created a strategic plan to help prevent Hep C infection among young people through education and social media.
The citywide meeting featured a NYC Hep C surveillance update, a report on the NYS Hep C Testing Law, and a NYC Hep C policy update.
Participants were updated on Hep B priorities in the United States, the Check Hep B Brooklyn Chinese Program, and advocacy efforts to secure Check Hep B funding in FY 2018.
At the Queens Hep C Task Force meeting, participants learned about the Hep Free NYC Faith-based Initiative, Hep C Services at Brightpoint Health – Queens Health Home, and the Hep C Statewide Elimination Summit.
This special event featured presentations on the Hep C Outbreak in Midwest and current Hepatitis programs in Hawaii.
The Harlem Hep C Task Force Meeting featured advice on how to support City Council Hep C advocacy, information about the Harlem United Check Hep C Program, and an update on Project INSPIRE.
Members of the Hep Free NYC LGBTQ Committee met to discuss activities to be implemented in 2016, including tabling at LGBTQ events and distributing the Hepatitis LGBTQ Resource Card.
The Hep B Coalition meeting introduced the new Team HBV initiative supported by a Hep B United Grant, featured the New Charles B. Wang Community Health Center #NOHep Social Media Campaign, and provided updates on the Check Hep B Patient Navigation Program.
The Staten Island Hep C Task Force meeting provided an introduction to the new Brighpoint Health location in Staten Island, updates on the Tackling Youth Substance Abuse program, and a presentation on a resource card to increase hepatitis screening among young injection drug users.
On June 21, 2016, members of the Hep Free NYC Faith-based Initiative met to launch the initiative and develop activities to raise awareness about Hepatitis in faith communities.
The meeting featured presentations on The Fortune Society and Sandra Atlas Bass Center for Liver Diseases services, updates on NYC Health Dept Hep C surveillance, and a Hep testing model used by NewYork Presbyterian Queens.
At the April 27 Hepatitis B Coalition meeting, attendees learned about the Project H+EAL Program and results of the enhanced Hep B Surveillance Project.
Community partners met to addresses the increase of prescription medication misuse as well as intranasal and injection drug use, that has contributed to increased rates of Hepatitis B and C nationally.
Members of the LGBTQ Initiative met to organize panel discussions on Hepatitis; help develop a LGBTQ hepatitis personal stories workshop; help produce LGBTQ hepatitis resources; and plan for Pride events.
Special guests Jason Grebely, Alain Litwin, and Sheila Reynoso presented on best practices to improve Hep C care among people who inject drugs.
Our Bronx Hep C Task Force meeting included a presentation on Project INSPIRE and updates on the End of Hep C Initiative.
On February 23, 2016, Patient Navigators met at the Nest to learn about its Hepatitis care services and to develop a directory of Patient Navigators in New York City.
On March 9, 2016, over 50 people attended the Brooklyn Hep C Task Force Meeting. Participants discussed the development of a Faith-Based Initiative, updates in Hep C medication coverage, and other important issues.
The Staten Island Hep C Task Force meeting highlighted the growing heroin and Hepatitis C epidemic among SI young people, and services available in Staten Island to address this issue.
At the February 17 Hepatitis B Coalition meeting, attendees mapped out a plan to further strengthen the Coalition in 2016.
On February 3, 2016, LGBTQ organizations and programs met for the first time to develop a LGBTQ Hepatitis Initiative.
On January 28, 2016, members of the Patient Navigator Network met to develop a strategic plan for 2016.
Over 50 professionals convened to learn about new Hep C services in Harlem, updates on Project INSPIRE, a new LGBTQ Hepatitis Initiative, and hepatitis advocacy events throughout NYS.
Over 30 professionals convened to learn about NYC mayor’s recent initiative for immigrant health, updates on the universal birth dose initiative, and recent research in Hep B and liver cancer.
Over 45 professionals convened to learn more about Brooklyn Hep C services and the barriers to Hep C treatment for NYC residents.
